The situation with the growth of measles incidence requires urgent decisions from the part of the state!
The People’s Deputy of Ukraine Yuriy Miroshnychenko commented on a sharp rise in the incidence of measles among the Ukrainian population.
The politician noted that the Red Cross Society of Ukraine is concerned about the impending epidemic and requires emergency financing of the fight against the outbreak of the cortex: “According to the organization, in 2018 more cases of diseases were recorded in Ukraine than in all the EU countries taken together”.
The parliamentarian suggested that the increase in measles morbidity was due to the low level of vaccination in the last few years, including due to delays in the procurement of immunobiological drugs, against the background of an unbalanced system of sanitary surveillance: “The main causes of a sharp rise in the disease are the lack of vaccines, the rejection of them due to fears quality or because of the low awareness of the need for immunization, the complicated process of getting free vaccinations and the high price of vaccines for those for whom it is not foreseeable without infections.
To sum up, Yuriy Miroshnychenko emphasized the urgency of the problem: “The situation with the growth of measles morbidity in Ukraine is more complicated and the fight against the spread of infection requires the adoption of urgent anti-epidemiological measures. Providing population with free vaccinations and informing the population about the situation in the country is the state’s duty. “
