The systemic fight against corruption is the only way out of the crisis in the transport sector

This was emphasized by the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Yuriy Miroshnychenko, answering questions about the current state of the transport industry in the country.

The parliamentarian commented on the disappointing statistics of the results of the transport sector in Ukraine, where one of the most neglected parts of this industry is rail transport:

“Ukrzaliznytsia suffers from the crisis, while the latest purchases of new locomotives will not save the situation. The need for locomotives and electric locomotives, for the next year, according to expert estimates and taking into account the future write-off in technical condition – exceeds the planned 3-5 times. ”

Analyzing information from top managers of Ukrzaliznytsya that there is no money for new locomotive supplies, and the only way to take them is to raise tariffs (about 25%), Yuri Miroshnichenko said:

“This is the way to nowhere, such a decision will lead to a decrease in the competitiveness of Ukrainian products, many commodity producers will be forced to simply reject railway transportation, which will further reduce the profits of” Ukrzaliznytsya “.

“In my opinion, which coincides with the opinion of experts, the most effective way to fix the situation is to eliminate corruption in the railroad monopoly,” the politician said.

“In order to fix the situation, there is a desire and the ability to resolutely fight corruption, which will save billions of dollars. As the experience of recent years shows, today’s government was unable to cope with it. He believes that the OPPOSITION PLATFORM FOR LIFE, headed by a presidential candidate Yuriy Boyko, has enough strength and professionalism to overcome this problem and to fix the situation “, – summed up Yuri Miroshnychenko.
