We need to improve both international and national legislation to protect people from voluntary slavery!

This was emphasized by the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Yuriy Miroshnychenko during a meeting with American experts on combating human trafficking, which took place on April 11.

The politician stressed that today the country faces a major challenge in demarcating the process of labor migration and counteracting trafficking of human beings at the international and national levels: “Economic circumstances, as a form of coercion, leads to the erosion of the line between voluntary and forced departure abroad in search of earnings “.

The parliamentarian stressed the need to fix the economic situation in the country, to improve legislation and state control in order to prevent the Ukrainians from falling into slavery, even if it would be according to their own formal decision!

“We need to combine efforts to counter trafficking of human beings. We must protect our citizens, who, having strong family ties, are forced to go abroad for years in search of earnings “, – summed up Yuri Miroshnychenko.
