Protecting democratic values, especially freedom of speech, is a shared responsibility of the state and society as a whole!

This was emphasized by the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Yuri Miroshnychenko on May 3 on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day.

The politician noted that a free and independent press is the core of a democratic society: “Freedom of speech is one of the basic pillars of democratic values, therefore protecting it –  is the common duty of the state and society as a whole.”

Summing up, Yuri Miroshnychenko congratulated the press and thanked them for their honest work: “I express my sincere gratitude to all the media! Thanks to your work, one of the main foundations of democracy is realized, and citizens have the opportunity to be informed and educated, which is extremely important in a modern information society! “
